The main purpose of this blog is to talk about travel, food, hotels... But I also felt like including something different at least one day a week. And I found a topic that, for many reasons, I am quite passionate about: Motivation.
I work in a really stressful place and if you add that I tend to stress myself easily, you get an explosive combination. In fact, for the last months I have been having awful stomach aches, so bad that I had an endoscopy done. I was pretty sure it was all down to stress but my doctor insisted as she thought it was an ulcer. It all came clear, so yeah, it is, indeed, stress.
For the last years I have been trying to think you to manage it, how to let things go and stop worrying about everything, all the time. I read tons of books about motivation, stress, depression, how to be happy, how not to worry.... And I also check YouTube videos as much as I can. This is how I discover Ted Talks.
Ted Talks is a collection of conferences in different locations around the world. Each conference is about a different topic, or with a different angle. Basically you have talks about anything you want to know more about. I am not going to bore you about the history, as you can check it out here if you want.
What I want to show you today is one conference that really hit me hard. It is called: Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are, and is by social psychologist Amy Cuddy. She talks from personal experience, and explains how she could shape who she was, by faking it to start with.
An example of this could be: if you want to be more confident, you need to fake that confidence until you stop faking it, because you have become confident. I would like to totally recommend this talk to you guys because it is amazing. Plus Amy Cuddy explains everything in such a way that is extremely easy to understand, and to follow.
Here is the video:
I really hope you like it and please let me know if you have watched it and what you thought of it. I know it is 20 minutes long but it is totally worth it!!
Thank you for reading!
